History & Foundation
Al Quaraouiyine was established by the great visionary Fatima al-Fihri, who through her donation founded this learning center which has prevailed for more than a thousand years. The school gradually progressed from a mosque to a university that was at the top of the list for theology, law, mathematics, astronomy, and medicine studies.
