The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) located in Doha is one of the major attractions and cultural spots in the Middle East. It finds its place on an artificial island that is a part of Doha’s Corniche. History & Vision of the Museum
To maintain and honor Islamic heritage the museum was set up in such a way that the collection spanned over 14 centuries. The artifacts were collected from the regions like the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Europe.
Legendary Architecture by I. M. Pei
Synonymous with classic Islamic architecture in modern interpretation. The whiteness of the limestone exterior is combined with geometric shapes and smooth lines. The location is no less than a blessing—a man-made island.
Permanent Collections
The Qur’an of ancient times was written in manuscripts along with the art of calligraphy. Ceramics, glass, and metal pieces were among the collection too. Furthermore, there were jewels, fabrics, and other arts of decorations. Instruments for scientific and academic purposes were also included.
Temporary Exhibitions & Cultural Programs

Morning: Silent galleries and cool temperatures. Late Afternoon: Perfect for taking pictures and viewing the skyline. Weekdays: The experience is less crowded.
