Souq Waqif, besides being one of the most vibrant spots in the city, is also the most visited cultural landmark of Doha. It is spread over a large area and is at the same time a very historic site. The market is positioned centrally, close to the Corniche, and the heritage structures that are used at the market have been beautifully restored to stay true to the traditional Qatari style of architecture by rendering the walls with mud, using timber beams, and making narrow streets.
