Butare, or Huye as it is officially known, is situated in the Southern Province of Rwanda. The town is often called the cultural capital of Rwanda. With its rich history, academic institutions, and lively heritage, Butare gives visitors an interesting view of the country’s past and present.
The town is the place where the Ethnographic Museum of Rwanda, one of the best museums in East Africa, is located. This museum displays the traditional artifacts, art, and exhibits that tell the story of Rwanda’s cultural evolution.
