Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah is one of the most popular historical attractions in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. It was a part of the former trans-Saharan trade route connecting Marrakech to the Sahara, and this fortified village (ksar) is an outstanding example of traditional earthen building. The mud bricks and clay used for construction have turned Aït Ben Haddou into a place and hub of cultural interactions for centuries. It is now famous worldwide for its picturesque location, the remains of kasbahs, and its participation in countless international films and tv series as a location.
