The Royal Tombs in Petra are a group of enormous rock-cut tombs which have been chiseled out of the pale red cliffs of the old city. They belong to the group of the most astounding monuments in Petra and are indeed a sign of the wealth and the power of the Nabatean upper class. Corinthian Tomb The front is adorned with Corinthian-style columns. Charming design with a number of rooms. Palace Tomb A multi-story building that is similar to a royal palace. The first thing to do is to put on strong and comfortable walking shoes since there are stairs and rough paths. It is important to have along water and sunscreen. Plan to spend a minimum of 1–2 hours on the visit to the tombs. Politeness towards the ancient site is mandatory and avoid disturbing delicate carvings.
