The most diverse 6-day safari of primates will take you through Uganda’s happiest places with a route from Entebbe to the volcanoes that are the border line with Rwanda. The first stop is Kibale Forest, which has the largest number of chimpanzees in the world, where you will experience the Bigodi Cultural Experience and also an amazing hike through the “Top of the World” that gives you a view over the crater lakes.

The next stop is Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that will make you do the impossible gorilla tracking adventure through misty jungle — one of the most heartwarming wildlife encounters in Africa. Along with the tracking, you can optionally meet the Batwa, who will tell you about their and the forest’s ancient traditions.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is the last stop on your trip where you will be tracking the golden monkeys, which are quite cheeky, and watching from the boat the beautiful scenery of the Virunga Volcanoes while cruising the calm waters of Lake Mutanda. The tour is followed by a transfer either to Entebbe or Kigali, which is always a good chance to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a reflective and meaningful end to your adventure.

Travel Time: About 06 Hours Your pickup place is adaptable — either from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe Town, or straight from Entebbe Airport (We suggest arriving on an early flight). The guide, as previously mentioned, will greet you very nicely and he will be the one to give you the whole tour plan before you go on to Kibale Forest. A lunch break will be at a chosen nice restaurant on the way. At Kibale, get into the Bigodi Cultural Experience which offers an encounter of a lifetime that includes making and tasting local coffee, trying banana beer and local vodka, discovering unique art & crafts, listening to music and dancing of the locals, and indeed learning the healing power of the local herbs (this part of the program is subject to change). Later, the journey continues to the lodge where you will check in, and the lodge staff will take care of you, so you can have a very nice dinner and after that settle for the night. Pickup Time: 07:00AM. After your early breakfast at the lodge, you will go to the park for a briefing before starting the chimpanzee trek. Planned Activities: The experience of Chimpanzee Tracking – After an early morning briefing at 8:00 AM, a hike of 8:30 AM will lead into the invigorating trek through the verdant Kibale rainforest. On your way to following the chimpanzees in their natural environment, you will see the monkeys swinging in the treetops, gathering various foods, and interacting in their cheerful family groups. The forest is vibrant with life, from exotic birds singing to short sightings of other shy animals— every single step shows a new surprise. You’ll be accompanied by an expert ranger who will share with you the most interesting things about the chimpanzee’s behavior, the fragile forest ecosystem, and the conservation activities that are being carried out. Don't forget to bring the essentials, such as good hiking boots, long pants, a face mask, insect repellent, gloves, and drinking water, so your adventure will be comfortable and unforgettable. Once you finish this wildlife encounter, you will go back to the lodge for relaxation and having a well-deserved lunch. In the late afternoon, you will take a guided “Top of the World” hike. Pickup Time: 06:30AM. Get up early for breakfast and receive a lunchbox with mineral water which you will pack in your backpack and then proceed to the park | Dinner is provided at your lodge. The major Event of the Day: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Experience – After the formalities at the park, initiate a trip of a lifetime to observe the endangered mountain gorillas. The wildlife expedition will include trekking through thick forests, making up the steep paths and the like, and finally arriving at the gorilla family — among them will be the huge silverback. You’ll be there for 1–2 amazing hours for observing and taking pictures of these beautiful creatures in their habitat. The ranger guide accompanying you will at the same time be securing a safe location for you to have your picnic lunch before you either proceed with the trek or go back to the lodge (this may change). Make sure not to get unprepared for the wild as it requires durable hiking boots, long trousers, gloves, long-sleeved clothing, a face mask, insect repellent, and ample water. Start off with an early breakfast at the lodge, then Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for the Golden Monkey trek, and further enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake Mutanda. Planned Activities: Mgahinga Golden Monkey Trek – The day will be very well spent as the first thing, you will participate in a briefing, and at 8:00am you will set off your unforgettable trek through the rainforest of Mgahinga which is full of mist. Cross over the sinuous paths and thick bamboo groves as you pursue the colorful Golden Monkeys in the wild. A2-3 hour share of the Golden Monkeys’ lives spent watching, taking them first and foremost with your camera, then enjoying their activity of leaping, searching for food, and playing. You have to wear sturdy hiking shoes, long sleeves, trousers, and a backpack containing insect repellent, water, and a face mask. Then there will be a Lake Mutanda Boat Cruise – Your adventure will continue with a charming boat cruise from Cheba’s Point on Lake Mutanda’s untouched waters. And while the boat ride is going on, you will be able to spot elegant birds and playful otters. Also, don’t forget to take stunning pictures of the towering volcanoes that surround the lake since the local guide will be sharing tales with you about the people and animals living in the area. This journey of two hours is the perfect mix of peace, exploration, and stunning scenery! After the boat cruise, you will meet your guide and be transferred to Chameleon Hill Lodge for lunch. Then in the evening after indulging in relaxation and leisure time at the lodge, you will head back to the lodge. Travel Duration: Approx. 04 Hours to Kigali Airport Approx. 09 Hours to Entebbe Airport Pickup: 07:00 AM or earlier. Start your day with an early breakfast and then check out. According to your travel schedule, you can decide to leave through Kigali or Entebbe Airport – The whole group should agree on one departure option. Transfer Option 01: Road transfer to Entebbe Airport, landing on time for check-in and flight connection — late departure is the best to go for in regard to convenience. Alternatively, for USD 390 per person, take a domestic flight to Entebbe Airport that is 2 hours long and hence be relaxed and more efficient. Transfer Option 02: Drive to Kigali Airport through the beautiful Cyanika Border and enjoy lunch provided by the lodge. If time allows, you can do a short visit to Kigali Genocide Memorial that is very moving and offers a view into the history of Rwanda that is hard to forget, before heading to the airport for your flight.
