Going to Lion Uganda safari for 8 days will be the best thing that you will ever do and it will help you see the wonders of Africa’s wild and cultural nature.
Your trip will start in Kampala, which is the lively capital of Uganda, where you will also see the Buganda Palace and Gaddafi Mosque among others, and after that, you will continue to the rainforests of Kibale National Park which are very lush. Then you will visit the Bigodi Village and have a cultural tour there, and also get a chance to track Chimps which will be nothing less than unforgettable as well as a hike overlooking crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains which is called the “Top of the World”.

Then you will reach Queen Elizabeth National Park which is one of Uganda’s most diverse ecosystems and during your stay, you will go on a Kazinga Channel boat cruise to see hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, then an exciting game drive looking for the park’s famous tree-climbing lions will follow.

The next destination will be the fabulous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which is the home of 50% of the world’s mountain gorillas. You will be allowed to trek through the misty jungle and see a gorilla family — a unique experience that brings you even closer to nature.

In the end, there will be Lake Mburo National Park, where the walking safari will be very peaceful and you will be able to capture the beauty of the sunset behind the zebras and the antelopes. Just before you are taken back to the airport in Entebbe, you will stop by the Equator for pictures to post online.

Journey time: Approx. 01 Hour When you land at Entebbe International Airport, our safari guide will receive you with great warmth and immediately grant you a private transfer to the capital city of Kampala. Guests who get there before 10:00 AM will start with the city tour, which includes seeing and learning about Kampala's beautiful sights and cultural nuggets. Lunch will be provided at a restaurant during the activities. Planned Excursion (Early Arrival Basis): Kampala City Tour – Get to know the real Uganda through this vibrant, fun, and insightful city excursion, which will showcase its cultural and historical treasures. The tour will touch the most prominent places in the city such as Buganda Palace, Gaddafi Mosque, Kasubi Tombs, Uganda Museum, and Bahá’í Temple. In addition, you will walk in the local markets, which are colorful and noisy, and know more about the historical monuments. First, you will take a local lunch at Tinka's Homestead, the most recommended place. In the afternoon, you will head out on the Bigodi Community Tour which is a cultural experience filled with coffee tasting together with locals, sampling of banana beer and making of local vodka, seeing vibrant arts and crafts, listening to cultural songs and dances, and getting to know medicinal herbs. Pickup Time: 07:00AM. The day begins with an early meal at the lodge, then the attendance at the park’s briefing for the primate trek is followed. You will receive lunch at the lodge as a reward after the remarkable wildlife experience. Planned Activities: Chimpanzee Tracking experience – After the early morning briefing at 08:00, start at 08:30 for the trek into Kibale’s rainforest. You will take turns walking on the trails while looking for the chimps in their natural surroundings, watching their daily activities like swinging, foraging, and playing in their family groups. The forest will welcome you with its rich bird and wildlife sounds, providing you with unexpected views and unforgettable moments. You will be enlightened by your guide about the forest ecosystem, chimpanzee behavior, and conservation work, thus making this a very thrilling and educational experience. Come back to the lodge with unforgettable memories of one animal encounter in Africa. Travel time: About 2 Hours Time with Pickup: 08:00AM. Have breakfast in the lodge before you check out, for your trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Get to your lodge in time for lunch before the boat cruise. Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise – After lunch, embark on an abbreviated but enthralling boat ride through the Kazinga Canal. You would be able to identify a fantastic collection of birds which include the African fish eagle, the pelican, the flamingo, the hamerkop, the egret, the African finfoot, the pied kingfisher, the marabou stork, the vulture, and the kite. Also, you may see some of the other mammals including hippos, buffalos, warthogs, crocodiles, and waterbucks as they are very much present during the afternoon at the waterholes where they come to drink and cool off. After a satisfying early breakfast, get ready to discover Queen Elizabeth National Park, the home of many wildlife species, thus observing many animals in a natural setting. Then you will head to the impenetrable forest of Bwindi with a lunch break at a restaurant along the way. Planned Activities: A morning game drive will let you see and explore the breathtaking landscapes of Queen Elizabeth National Park while the sun goes up; the park’s wide rolling savannahs, woodland, and sparkling waterholes create a perfect natural scene for wildlife viewing. Among the wild beasts, you might spot elephants, lions, buffalos, and many kinds of antelopes during your continuous drive through the park. Afterward, a visit to the saltworks at Lake Katwe is planned, where you will see firsthand how the locals have been mining salt for centuries. The experience will be comprised of salt extraction, viewing the glittering salt flats, and interacting with locals to understand better this unique and age-old cultural economic activity that has characterized the region for generations. Pick-up Time: 06:30AM. Have early breakfast, before getting a lunchbox with mineral water to take with you in your bag, and going to the park for a briefing. Day’s Main Activity: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Experience—After completing park formalities, go on a never-to-be-forgotten experience tracking the endangered mountain gorillas deep in the misty forests of Bwindi: With the help of your expert ranger, slowly walk through the forest looking for these gentle giants. When you do reach a gorilla family, you will be able to stay, photography, and plus your whole also see their behavior for 1 to 2 hours. Midway through the trek, your ranger will choose a secure and picturesque place for a picnic lunch, after which you can either proceed with the trek or go back to the lodge. Very Important: You should wear strong hiking shoes, long trousers and sleeves, gloves, a face mask, and also take along mosquito repellent and water. Optional Activity: For an additional $30pp., you can take part in the Batwa Cultural Trail, where you will learn about the culture and lifestyle of the Batwa people. Right after your arrival, have a yummy lunch at the lodge and then go for a walking safari. Evening Activity: Lake Mburo Walking Safari – Just when the sun is about to set, start a thrilling and captivating walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park for up to three hours. An expert ranger will be your guide and he will take you through the winding trails from Rwonyo to the saltlicks—a favorite spot of large mammals where they come to lick salty clay. Use all your senses to your advantage and try to see some zebrasthe, impalas and other animals living there as they enjoy the last rays of the day when the savannah is painted in stunning golden colors.
