The Dades Valley, which lies between the High Atlas mountains and Jebel Saghro, is one of the most beautiful mregions of Morocco. It's usually referred to as “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs” due to its marvelous red-rock landscape, and it is also famous for its covered with palm trees and charming Berber tribes. One can have glimpses of the amazing contour cliffs and the beautiful rock formations like the “Monkey Fingers” from the valley’s Dades Gorge which is cut by the Dades River.

Dades Valley is situated between the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas Mountains, in southeastern Morocco and the area between Ouarzazate and Tinghir. It is quite near to Marrakech, Merzouga, and Todra Gorges. So, it is very well connected by roads.
Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are the best period for mild temperatures and stunning landscapes. Summer can get really hot, while winter nights may be quite cold up there in the mountains.
The valley is the home of the spectacular rock formations, among which is the notorious Monkey Fingers, sturdy fortresses, rich palm orchards, and the magnificent Dades Gorges which are also accessed by twisting mountain roads.

Absolutely, the main road is basically safe and keeps getting improvements. Nonetheless, the renowned hairpin turns in the Dades Gorges do call for extra caution and really slow driving. It is a good idea for people who are not so used to mountain roads to hire a driver.
