Journey Time: Approx. 3 Hours Pick-up time: 08:30AM. The guided tour of Kigali City starts with a pick-up from the hotel after breakfast and check-out. Lunch will be offered at a restaurant during the tour. Kigali City will be your first destination to visit: The Kigali trip gives you an ideal start to the colorful capital of Rwanda. Kigali is known for its hills, good weather throughout the year, and being one of the cleanest and safest cities in Africa, thus this city is very attractive for visitors. Among others, Kandt House, the Natural History Museum, and the Presidential Palace Museum are some of the places that will be seen during the city tour. Mount Kigali would also be visited for a scenic view while the Genocide Memorial will be the last stop of the day for a time of reflection. Optional Activity (30$ per person): Iby’Iwacu Cultural Experience – A tour to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village is an adventure into the past of Rwanda with its customs and practices. Join in the local community through guided tours, get into the replica of the King’s house and watch the traditional performances of Intore dance and cultural singing. In addition, you will be told stories, see the local technique of brewing banana beer, and spirits. Later in the evening, the lodge will be your destination for a refreshment and for the dinner. Journey Duration: About 03 Hours Pickup Time: 06:00AM. Have a lodge breakfast before the transfer to the park's Kinigi office for registration and an in-depth pre-climb briefing. A lunch box is provided to help you stay active during the whole day of adventure. Scheduled Activity: Mount Bisoke Summit Adventure - Arrive at Kinigi Office at 07:00AM for briefing and allocation of guide and then set off for exhilarating trek. At 3,711m height, Mount Bisoke is one of the most stunning and fruitful volcanoes in the Virunga range. The way up is through thick vegetation with occasional clearings offering great pictures of the surrounding mountains and ending at the very beautiful Crater Lake at the peak of the mountain. The whole adventure usually involves about six hours—around four hours up the mountain and two hours back down. After the hike, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest transfer, where dinner at your lodge awaits. Pickup Time: 06:30AM. You will receive a lunchbox and bottled water to carry, after which you will go to the park office, following an early breakfast. Planned activity: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking Experience – Go deep into the jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an unforgettable experience with the rarest mountain gorillas. An experienced ranger and well-trained trackers will help you to walk through the middle of the rainforest that is covered with mist, surrounded by the noise and smell of the jungle, and every step you take will raise your excitement. When the gorillas are found, you will have 1 to 2 magical hours of watching and taking pictures of these splendid animals in their natural surroundings. This is not just a hike—it is a close, once-in-a-lifetime trip into one of the world’s most outstanding ecosystems! Your guide will choose a quiet place for a picnic lunch during the trek or you will return to the lodge (subject to change). For your comfort and safety, wear strong hiking shoes, long trousers, long-sleeved shirts, gloves, a face mask, and carry insect repellent and water. Travel time: Approximately 3 Hours to Kigali Pickup Time: 06:00AM. The lodge will provide a hearty breakfast, and then you will officially set off for the golden monkey trek by traveling to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Activities planned: At Mgahinga, Golden Monkey Trek - After the morning briefing, the group will leave at 08:00AM for the trek through the lush rainforest of Mgahinga. Golden monkeys inhabit the lower areas of the forest where bamboo grows, and during the trek, the visitors will get to know the forest's distinctive ecosystem while tracking these lively and endangered monkeys, watching them as they skip over the bamboo - this usually takes 1–2 hours. It is advisable for practical reasons to wear strong shoes for hiking, long-sleeved shirts, and trousers, and take with you items such as insect repellent, drinking water, a face mask, and a walking stick. You can also hire porters for help if that would be necessary. And Lake Mutanda Boat Trip – After this, the next activity is to transfer to Cheba's Point where a tranquil two-hour boat trip on beautiful Lake Mutanda is scheduled. Sail over the lake's golden surface, visit some of its lovely little islands, and enjoy the excellent views of the hills that are around and the volcanoes that are far away. After this, you will meet your guide and will go to Chameleon Hill Lodge for lunch. Then, you will be heading to Kigali City for hotel check-in; dinner this evening will not be included.
